Having heard a lot of good things about the Aquatics Scuba Company, we wandered up the street with our $250 in hand and signed up. After a few white lies about our general health, we were in…(seriously, would you have delayed your start time to go and get a Doctor’s certificate of health simply because you’ve got a history of seasickness????)
The three day course virtually “guaranteed” us a full PADI certification, four dives, sun, sand, and even lunch thrown in. In the end, we were not disappointed. With one instructor and only three students, there was lots of opportunity for one-on-one training – especially important for us old folks.
Each day we headed out in the boat to the local marine park for our training. In the end, we passed with flying colours…with Andrea even getting through the dreaded “mask removal at 20 ft”. Now, we are just hoping that Ian’s ears will clear so we can get in a few more dives before we leave as we doubt that we’ll be doing much diving while we are back in Canada.
