After three days, we finally reached the South Shetland Islands to the north west of the Antarctic Peninsula. That is where the fun really started. For the next two and a half weeks we slowly sailed/motored our way from island to island, hiking, kayaking, site-seeing, camping, snow-shoeing, skiing, etc.We had a mixed bag of weather, certainly some cloudy and rainy days but enough bright, clear blue sunny days to allow us to experience Antarctica in all of its glory!
